If you ever wanted to run a country

I know I sometimes think I can run the country better than many of our leaders but I will probably never get that chance until now. There is a website where you can create and then decide the policies of your country. You choose the name, the government, the economy and key issues. You can even decide whether or not to join the UN. The site is Nation States and its worth taking a look at.

Here is the description of my country:

The Republic of Warsnak is a small, economically powerful nation, renowned for its complete absence of social welfare. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 9 million are either ruled by a small, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

There is no government in the normal sense the word; however, a small group of community-minded, pro-business individuals juggles the competing demands of Commerce, Religion & Spirituality, and Law & Order. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Pizza Delivery, Book Publishing, and Gambling industries.

Voting is voluntary and the streets are increasingly clogged with poverty-stricken beggars. Crime is crippling, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Warsnak's national animal is the dachshund, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the war.

Let me know if you create a country. I would like to check it out.

Thanks to Brittany for the link to the site.

From: Clemens

Well, that's what a plaved ran by me would look like

The Republic of Clemens H is a tiny, pleasant nation, notable for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, intelligent population of 5 million have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

The small government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Commerce, and Defence. The average income tax rate is 15%, but much higher for the wealthy. A large private sector is led by the Basket Weaving industry, followed by Cheese Exports and Information Technology.

Crime is a problem. Clemens H's national animal is the german shepherd and its currency is the euro.

The Republic of No Po is a tiny, environmentally stunning nation, renowned for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, intelligent population of 6 million are highly moralistic and fiercely conservative, in the sense that they tend to believe most things should be outlawed. People who have good jobs and work quietly at them are lauded; others are viewed with suspicion.

The large government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Commerce. The average income tax rate is 22%, but much higher for the wealthy. A substantial private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Cheese Exports and Beef-Based Agriculture.

Voting is voluntary. Crime is moderate. No Po's national animal is the nanook, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the a noodle.

No Po is ranked 3926th in the region and 58,944th in the world for Most Income Equality.
