maybe if the US would have done something to Germany for expanding their armed forces right from the start, the war could've been prevented. nobody did anything about them having a military that they set up on the west side of the country even though it went against the Treaty of Versailles. if Britain and the US got together at the start of hitler's expansion of the military, we could have prevented the deaths of millions of people. most countries probably didn't think hitler would take everything as far as he did. -Megan Ollendieck
As soon as Hitler started to get more and more follwers the US should have checked them out. I mean Germany already caused enough damage in WWII and no one wanted that to happen again. Also, everyone knew that Germany and Soviet Union did not get along, but everyone just sat there as they shook hands and agreed to not get into a war. Obviously someone should have opened their eyes and kept a better eye out for the Axis Powers.
when the US saw that Germany was building up their military, something should have been done. FDR had to have known what was going to happen, and should have done somthing to prevent what was to come.
I think the outbreak of WWII could have happenened differently if Hitler hadn't become chancellor and president of Germany because then the Nazi party secretly began spending money on rearming and expanding the armed forces, in violation of the Versailles Treaty.
Germany should not have been forced to pay such expensive war reparations after World War I. This hurt their economy, and crippled their military. The German people were looking for a way out of their depression and a way to restore national pride. Hitler offered a way out. Perhaps if the Treaty of Versailles had been less severe, the German people would have been less apt to feel such a need to build up their military as aggressively, and they may not have accepted the anti-Jewish propaganda. Despite this, I still believe the German people were to blame. They shouldn't have accepted the anti-Jewish propaganda, and they should have realized that another war wouldn't be good for them.
If we could have done anything to prevent the war it would of been watching out for leaders such as Benito Mussolini and hitler. That is becuase those leaders were out to achieve their goal and there were other countrys that were not getting along at the time. Also i think Roosevelt could of done more to prevent the war at the beginning such as taking action with germany about their goverment build upAnthony Fitch
I think this could've been prevented if other countries would've stepped up sooner once Germany defiled the Treaty of Versailles. I think a lot of mistakes in this world don't occur when someone takes action, but when someone chooses not to when they should.~Grace Page
The Allies should have enforced the Treaty that stated that Germany was not allowed to have a larger armed forces or more territory, and when Germany did not listen then we should have carried out the threats that we said, then we could have stopped the start of the war.
There are many different things that could have been done, but one really sticks out to me. This prevention starts even before the Great Depression. The problem was the Treaty of Versailles. With in this document made Germany pay way too much money for its damages it caused. This then lead the Germans to be very angry with every country who was against the Germans. If and only if the British and everyone else would have listend to the US and its 14 pts Germany may not have been as mad for revenge.Kimberly Snell
There are many different things that could have been done to prevent or at least minimize the war. One thing if the people would have not let Hitler step all over them and over step his bounds as a leader. Also, I believe that if the United States would have got over there sooner then they would have put a bullet in his head or at least torture that evil evil man to show him who is boss and give him the treatment that he gave all of those innocent people.
I think that if Adolf Hitler would have never became chancellor then there would have possibly never been a war. Hitler was the one whom wanted to try to take over the entire world and become a great ruler. Not to mention if Japan would have never invaded us then we wouldn't of had to go to war as well. I think that Germany should have been happy with what they had instead of always wanting more. Also I think since that we should have did something about all the killings that occured because of the nazis. JORDAN MURRAY
if the u.s. would have done something when they saw germany building up their military, maybe the war could have happened differently. Also, the rising up of Hitler had a large part in the way the war outbroke.
The German - I think that from the moment Hitler was in power it would have been really hard to prevent a war. Although he was insane (that's what i say) he knew what he was doing, he knew how to get it (no matter what means) and he was hard to stop (or to be proved of his real intentions). Well, after thinking about it, I'd say that you would have go back in time immediately after World War I. Before the "Weimarer Republik". To my mind it would have been much harder for Hitler to "overthrow" the German goverment if the German people weren't suffering form the consequences of World War I and the Depression. Like in Italy and Russia it was the PERFECT time for the rise of dictators. Somehow I don't even know if this war could've been prevented. I am pretty sure there was no way the US could've have done something, before if finally happened.
well i mean everyone in the world was in a depression, and just a little glimpse of "goodness" from leaders such as Hitler and Mussolini got people to listen to them. the world isn't a nice place, so if the world war wouldn't have happened then eventually i think it would have, so there wasn't really any way to prevent it maybe just prolong it.katie bryant

I think if Hitler would have actually served all of his years in jail then it might have stoped what he did in WWII. And if the US would have gotten invoved eairlier then the war might not have been as bad as it was.Ryan Carey
I think that the mostimportant thing that should have been done to prevent WWII is for the German people to realize that Hitler was crazy. There is no reason for a man with a vendetta against his own people to govern a country. The Germans should have thought about what was going on.
To prevent WWII we could have tried to stop the powers of Hitler by like killing him so he could not have taken the innocent lives of all the Jews.
not really I mean if Hitler was not chancellor then maybe. but no if war is going to happen it is going to happen people are rude and don't mind there business and that leads to war. some people like hitler and onesided and only believe what he wants to believe and that was that there shouldn't be jews. also if the US got into it sooner things would have ended up better for the jews that what actually happened.Jena' Legrone
if HItler wouldnt have ever become chancellor and then became president WWII would have either been no existant or later when we would have seen it coming. -Malerie Hertzler
I belive that it would have been very hard to prevent the outbreak of this war.maybe one could have helped germany's economy so the people would have been happier and wouldn't have to live in poverty. in addition, i think that the treaty of versailles played a major role. maybe a different version of this treaty could've prevented the war. - Billy Roan
